This hub is the roster index for Funguys Swarm. Dedicated guides cover every hero, plus Pets and Treelings, Relics, and Weapons. Rankings sit on the Character Tier List. Builds sit on the Best Builds Guide.
The game is a single-character roguelite. You pick one Funguy per run. “Team” means your pet plus up to three Treelings, not extra playable bodies.
Starters and unlocks
Shroomba and Ersa are the original Early Access starters and the only heroes available on a brand-new save. Nutcase is the dash-power mouse from the November 2025 Egglosseum update. January 2026 added Groovba, Joomba, Fuzzbug, X-olotl, NutsNBoltz, and Chimpy. Version 1.0 added Dr. Botanika, Mr. Midnight, and Steve, each commanding the Ube sentry. A secret character unlocks after you defeat the Fire King in Hellscape.

Pets and Treelings
The Pets and Treelings guide covers Rusdy, Quacky, Starcat, Magnetika, Slo Moe, Dashy, Macho, and later companions such as Bounty, Clutteroni, Smarty, Protectron, and Marathony. You can equip up to three Treelings. Magnetika farms. Slo Moe slows projectiles. Dashy refunds dashes. Macho recovers health.
Relics and weapons
Relics such as Commoncap, Dashspores, Hellcap, and Diamondcap reshape whole runs. Weapons mix across heroes in 1.0 — the Watermelon Axe is Shroomba’s favorite, but any Funguy can swing it once it is unlocked. See the Skills and Weapons reference for trigger types.
Building your run
Match Treelings to the hero, not to generic stats. Nutcase wants dash refunds. Joomba wants windows of stillness. Fuzzbug wants Night pixie count. Hellscape wants Slo Moe and Macho. Pair this hub with the Arena Walkthrough and the Fire King guide when you start pushing the last arena.

Which character is best for beginners?
Pick [Ersa](/players/ersa/) for Freeze crowd control or [Shroomba](/players/shroomba/) for sturdy melee. They are the only two starters. Fuzzbug is a January 2026 unlock and is stronger later, not on a fresh save.
How many Treelings can I equip at once?
You can equip up to three Treelings simultaneously. Each Treeling provides a unique passive bonus that persists across all runs. Unlock additional Treelings by progressing through the Sanctuary Tree.
What is the difference between pets and Treelings?
Pets are equipment that provides passive bonuses during runs, while Treelings are companions unlocked at the Sanctuary Tree that offer persistent buffs. Both systems work together to enhance your character's capabilities.
Which Treeling is best for Hellscape?
For Hellscape, Slo Moe and Macho are the most valuable Treelings. Slo Moe slows enemy projectiles in the high-density Hellscape arena, while Macho provides emergency health recovery during the demanding Fire King fight.
